Regardless of your views on the war or on what Congress should do about it, if you are a truly against pork barrel politics, you should oppose this bill in its current form. Congress should pass a bill funding the war --- or defunding it --- based on the merits, not because they have been bought off by pork barrel projects for their districts. (And as the Washington Post reports today, that is exactly what is happening.)

Thus far, Congressman Jeb Hensarling is the only Representative to have formally signed CAGW's pledge. I'm hopefully that many more --- both Republicans and Democrats --- will do so. Call and write your own Representative, and let them know what you think!
