I'm especially encouraged by Mr Lott's comments.
May I suggest that the Porkbusters network direct attention to the current FAA fundind debate, it is quite typical of how federal budget bloat develops. There is heated debate over HOW the FAA increases revenue, missing the point: the FAA has not (cannot) justify the current funding level, what really needs to happen is trim the pork in FAA funding, not pour more money into the black hole that is FAA...but by diverting attention to arguing over various, frightengly dangerous funding proposals, FAA has so far succesfully kept examination away from the question of why they spend so much money!

That's a frequently repeated tactic: debate over how best to raise revenue, instead of questioning the need (and finding ways to cut that need!).

Fight earmarks to death. Congress cannot be allowed to waste our hard earned money to waste land fraud..Steve

Fight all Earmarks, the Dems’ and GOP blame each other for all the Pork, but we see that both sides tact on these pet projects for their districts or interests. The empowered Majority Speaker of the House stated clearly before taking power that the new majority would make all earmarked (pork projects) public before voting (Yea...Right...[sic]). We see now how the Speaker of the House instructed the committee to keep a lid on all earmarks until the vote comes up. Her instruction and the Dems’ strategy makes it impossible for any open discussion in committee or on the floor so, us “the people” will not know or see how much waste is about to become law. They are attempting to keep it all hush hush until the legislation reaches the floor and come up for a vote avoiding the debate process. Keeping American Tax payers in the dark. If successful not only will they keep us taxpayers in the dark, but put us and our children in the poor house making us all more dependent on the government (i.e. handouts, welfare, and social security etc.)
Fight! Fight! Fight it tooth and nail where the public may see the waste! (I offer this prayer: “O Lord, we ask that you guide our elected leaders down the road of thriftiness. And provide Mr. Lott the strength to carry on this fight. And open their eyes so they may see the errors of their no accounting ways and the pain and grief they cause at the end of the month when paying our bills. Let them render what is Caesar’s to Caesar, and to keep their hands out of our WALLETS and PURSES!.....AMEN!
